August 21, 2016
The hot August days and hot trades keep on rolling by as the Summer of 2016 has been one of the best I can remember! I can’t even believe I’m saying that as Summer’s, especially August, are typically very boring. As with everything in life, avoid preconceived notions as everyday is a new day of opportunities and with the Fous4 Strategy you don’t even need the whole day! Just the first 1-2 hours of the market open as this Week of Fous4 Trading in Review will show you. We put together almost $10,000 in profits with great accuracy and it could have MUCH better.
So, these Week in Review Blogs take me a long time to bring you quality thoughts and lessons that YOU can learn from; so I hope you enjoy. But more importantly, with the craziness of the market gone I can methodically review what I did right, wrong, or could have done better. NEW TRADERS, you need to be doing this every weekend! If you want to get better at trading and make thousands a week like me you too need to be reviewing your trades every weekend. Now, let’s get on the week of August 15th and break-down the plays that were alerted in real-time to FousAlerts Members.
Monday – August 15, 2016
This Monday was certainly not action packed or eventful, but something interesting did go down. First, 10-20 minutes before the market open I send out my Pre-Market Watch-list to all Alerts and Elite Members and then I fire-up FousTV and I break-down the game-plan for all my Elite Subscribers.
So, only one trade went down on this Monday and it was a cover of $REN, which I had from the previous Friday that I alerted short at $15.50 with only 570 shares. What makes this interesting is that SpeedTrader sent me this email regarding $REN:
So, I received a buy-in notice which requires me to purchase the stock back (cover) and close the position for regulatory purposes and is a risk you take when initiating a short position. Not a huge deal if you are on top of your game. Without boring you guys, a forced buy-in can happen when the lender to the broker of the short-shares reserve the right to request their shares returned. This can be requested for a number of reasons and can result in what’s called a “short-squeeze,” where all the shorts cover (which is essentially buying) and the stock goes up. Remember, nothing in the market is guaranteed or something that appears to be an obvious outcome transpires as everyone anticipates. Welcome to trading! In this case, the anticipated result of a short-squeeze happened after the “buy-in” alert and I covered and took the small -$233 loss on $REN:
What a squeeze! Thankfully, I only took a small loss and perhaps I should have flipped the trade and went long anticipating a squeeze, but that was against my original trade thesis so I just watched her run.
Total on the Day = -$233
Tuesday– August 16, 2016
So, Tuesday morning came and I was feeling good about the potential on several Fous4 patterns I identified on my nightly Watch-list for ALL members. Most notably finally getting back on $REN after that buy-in alert and $NAK, which was a picture perfect setup.
Within the first 20 Minutes I traded the following:
9:32 AM EST – $OCN Short 5000 shares @ $3.26 Covered @ $3.33 for -$340 -2%
9:32 AM EST – $REN Short 500 shares @ $16.84 Covered @ $17.15 for -$159 -1.8%
9:45 AM EST – $NAK Short 20000 shares @ $1.02 Covered @ $1.02 for -$0 -0%
Unfortunately, the day amounted to nothing but small losses even with some setups I was really excited about. This is generally a typical day of losses me, as I for like to take small losses and get a feel for things. If my game-plan isn’t working I’ll monitor things to try again or come back the next day with the same or adjusted plan. Timing and patience is everything with trading as trades don’t always go your way exactly when you want it to.
Not a super exciting start to the week! But, there are some awesome trades and important lessons to learn as we move into Wednesday.
Total on the Day = -$499
Wednesday– August 17, 2016
Here we go! After a slow start to the week the FousAlerts Team got HOT and in just 3 days we saved the week with preparation and patience!
Within the first 20 Minutes I traded the following:
9:34 AM EST – $CRK Short 2000 shares @ $6.40 Covered 1/2 @ $5.86 @ 1/2 @ $5.72 for +$1,229 +9.5%
9:36 AM EST – $NAK Short 20000 shares @ $1.015 Add 20000 @ $1.01 Covered @ $0.95 for +$2,086 +15%
9:45 AM EST – $THLD Buy 20000 shares @ $0.655 Sell @ $0.75 for +$1,973 +15%
9:48 AM EST – $OCN Short 10000 shares @ $3.30 Cover @ $3.34 for –$400 -1.2%
Patience paid off as both $NAK and $THLD were on the watch-list for awhile! All members were prepared and ready. Many new traders have a stigma where they take a loss with a certain stock they become emotional with the stock for what it did to them. Hey, the stock’s gonna do what it’s gonna do and it’s up to you to keep your emotions in check and trust in your trading and strategy.
Total on the Day = +$4,929
Thursday– August 18, 2016
Thursday was a rather efficient day as I again alerted $THLD to subscribers in real-time for a +$1,764 gain! However, it was a short and not a long this time! Check out the chart analysis on $THLD from both Wednesday’s long play and Thursday’s short:
Two great gains as you can see, but Holy Sh*T did I miss a HUGE opportunity to bank big on $THLD long on Wednesday! As you saw above on Wednesday, I was sitting on nearly $5k in profits on the day, so what person would not take that! However, this is good and bad as my PnL (profit and loss) for the day effected my focus on the Fous4 Breakout Pattern on $THLD and I ignored the huge upside and took the profits. The good being who know’s what could have happened and taking your gains, when you have them, is never a bad idea! In general though, always trade the chart and not your PnL.
Total on the Day = +$1,750
Friday – August 18, 2016
Friday’s…the day as a trader that can either make you party ALL weekend in celebration or party ALL weekend in depression! 🙂 Thankfully, I would end the day and week STRONG for my 32nd Birthday! I rented a huge ocean-side villa in Baja, California for an amazing fiesta with my best friends. Apparently, I started drinking immediately and because of bad cell service I didn’t even bother to post any pictures! I’m trying to hunt down some for you, stay tuned. So, onto the trades.
Within the a little over 1 hours I traded the following:
9:33 AM EST – $CPRX Buy 10000 shares @ $0.973 Add 18700 Shares @ $1.00 Sell @ $1.05 for +$1,909 +7%
9:56 AM EST – $NTP Short Swing 1100 shares @ $8.20 Closed @ $7.47 +$990 +9% (unrealized)
Check out the chart analysis on the F1 Long Play $CPRX:
$CPRX was in a picture perfect Fous4 Revival Pattern on the long-tern daily chart (left) and gave me and my students a picture perfect F1 Breakout (right) in the AM. Just as I sold it popped another 8 cents, leaving another $700-800 on the table!
Total on the Day = +$2,909
